Kathy has been involved with some aspect of printing all her life.
She actually started at a very young age when she would go to
work with her father who was a typesetter for Maryland Casualty
Insurance. Kathy was quite fascinated with the way type was set,
and her love for printing started to grow. Kathy's love turned into a
career in 1992 when she adopted her first Xerox 4090 printer at
Baltimore Life Insurance Company. She had a new fascination and
was now "setting type" for insurance policies electronically - much
like her father did by hand. She started learning all the tools and
became quite expert at coding JSL's and DJDE statements to drive
the Xerox 4090 printers, and even helped the programmers at
Baltimore Life embed these commands in their programs. In 1995,
Baltimore Life recognized her talents and created her position of
Electronic Document and Imaging Analyst.
Xerox immediately put Kathy in touch with Xplor International in 1992. Since then, Kathy has attended
most of the MidAtlantic Regional Meetings, and has attended the Global Conference since 1994.
Always willing to help, Kathy started the MidAtlantic Newsletter, and now does it all on the MidAtlantic
Web Site. She has served as Secretary, Public Relations Coordinator, and President (2005) of the
Region. 1996 marked a very special year for Kathy - she achieved her EDPP certification with Xplor
International. In 2002 and 2007, she re-certified her EDP certification. She has served on the Region
Board since 2006, doing PR work and helping with MidAtlantic Web Site updates.

1999 was a year of change. Moore Business Communications had a need for her talents, and Kathy
accepted the position of System Analyst. Her main focus at Moore is the IBM InfoPrint Manager that
runs on IBM AIX servers. Right now she is considered an expert in InfoPrint Manager as well as the
Xerox NPS/IPS software. She still helps out with some Xerox metacode/DJDE jobs as well. She loves
being given a job and proving that she can 'put dots on paper'. Some call her the InfoPrint Manager
Goddess, though she doesn't consider anything she does 'rocket science'.

When Moore merged with Wallace, and then was purchased by RR Donnelley, Kathy stayed on board.
She still works with InfoPrint Manager, and accepts the challenge of making sure the job goes out the
back door, and digs in to troubleshoot when needed.

There isn't much 'free' time for Kathy, but when she has a minute or two she likes to do counted cross
stitch, needlepoint, and paints ceramics.
