R. Bubba Wert Board Member Bob (Bubba) Wert is no stranger to Xplor International. His service to the organization began in 1981, following the installation of the first laser printers for the Commonwealth of PA and in central Pennsylvania. He attended the very first meeting of the Xplor Mid Atlantic Region and was instrumental in helping organize the region, recruiting additional members, and educating members and others in laser printing technologies. His first position in the region, which he held for three years (82-84), was Technology Chairman. |
He served on the Association's Board of Directors as the Mid Atlantic Region's representative for four consecutive terms (85-92), and held officer positions as Secretary (1989), Vice - President (1990 - 91) and President (1992). Following his tenure on the Board, he continued to serve on the Board's Executive Committee for an additional year. As a volunteer and consultant to Xplor, he attended many Xplor Chapter and Region meetings & conferences (both domestic and international), 21 annual conferences and nearly all of the Leadership Conferences. Throughout his career, he has provided technical and managerial presentations at many Xplor meetings and conferences, and has served on numerous committees. Following his retirement from state government in 1994, he commenced working for Xplor as an organization development and senior level management consultant. He prepared and maintained many governing documents including the association's bylaws, the Board's Policies and Procedures Manual, certification guidelines manual, committee guidelines and policies manuals, and many region and chapter governing documents, ensuring consistency throughout the organizational. He participated in and facilitated committee meetings, developed employment specifications, job descriptions and hiring guidelines, and prepared and guided numerous "requests for proposal" for services. Additionally, he supported the Board of Directors by developing & presenting proposals for numerous programs / projects, maintaining the annual plan of activities, maintaining performance records and compensation guidelines for senior staff, and reviewed, prepared and maintained numerous contracts and service agreements. For nearly 2 years, beginning August 2001, he served as the President / Chief Executive Officer, and continued to provide leadership to and for Xplor International. In spring 2003, he was appointed as a "curriculum advisor" to the CNL (Computer and Networking Learning) Center, a local computer and network training facility, and served for 4 years. Currently, Mr. Wert is employed as a customer representative for a dealer only auto auction, which sells 1200 - 1600 automobiles weekly, and from time to time, works part time as a senior level management consultant. He continues to support Xplor's Mid Atlantic Region and the EDS Foundation. He has continuously served on the Mid Atlantic Region's board of directors from 2002 to the present. |
