Agenda
On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, Xplor International's XDU On-The-Road Show
*Washington, DC* was hosted by OCE North America at their offices in
Alexandria, VA. MAR Vice-President Alloy Harrison, an Oce hi-volume sales
rep., and Oce's Vice-President Bryan Beauchamp were our hosts. We are very
grateful for their hospitality to Xplor International and to Xplor Mid-Atlantic
Region attendees.
Attendees arrived as early at 8 a.m., parked, and made their way into the
showroom area where they were greeted by Treasurer Venita Acker and/or
Wilma Grant. Conference area was already setup with a/v and linkage to the
web. Everyone enjoyed the welcoming coffee, OJ, and donuts then settled
down in the conference room where they were welcomed by Xplor
International President, Skip Henk. Quite a few of our attendees were
first-timers, eager to learn about Xplor, and Skip easily accommodated their
questions. Next followed a series of multiple vendor presentations including:
Solimar's Ligia Mora whose topic was ADF Workflow Solutions. She discussed
integration of existing technologies and reducing costs, optimizing applications
by adding TransPromo and several other initiatives to increase efficiencies for
mailing/postal savings. Next up was Doculynx - this one was via the web from
CA in lieu of speaker who could not make the meeting - job well done.
Pitney-Bowes DMT speaker presented next right before lunch break.
Everyone shared a delightful deli lunch, chips, assorted cookies, iced tea and
lemonade, courtesy Xplor International. Then it was back to conference status
and a presentation by Oce's Alloy Harrison who shared a video on Copier
Security which had been shown on CBS previously. That video was a definite
security alert for any office with copiers. Alloy's presentation continued on
advising all attendees what they could do to heighten awareness of security
issues on copiers. Skip Henk followed with his own presentation on Are You a
Visualizer or a Visualist . . . a thought-provoking topic to end our day.
Skip Henk, president of Xplor International, remained busy and engaged in
social networking with all attendees throughout the day.
Attendees were from print and web production management, senior techs, hi-
and mid-range equipment key operators and staff, and one lucky intern who got
to venture out to learn about social networking, assn. activities. This show also
attracted vendor members from Xerox, Kodak, Ricoh, Lexmark, and Oce NA.
GMC portfolios were distributed to attendees by Skip, and several flyers were
shared along with Xplor pens.
One of the best parts of the day were several new members who joined Xplor
and the renewal dues we collected. All new members were presented with a
laptop bag as a way of saying thanks. Overall this meeting was a success to
Xplor International, Xplor Mid-Atlantic Region, and thanks to our loyal vendors
and members for their continuing support.
Xplor Mid-Atlantic Region will again align with Xplor International for an Xplor
On-the-Road Show on August 10, 2011. It will be held at PGMA in Columbia, MD
- more details will be posted on region site.
Regards to All,
Wilma Grant for Xplor Mid-Atlantic Region
